The Danbury Youth Soccer Academy is designed to further enhance the development of U7 and U9 players within the in-house program that are interested in further developing their soccer skills. Those players that participate in the Academy will continue to train one night a week, play games with their in-house teams at the weekend and will also participate in the one night a week Academy session.
DYSC Travel Teams begin at the age of U10 and practice 2 nights a week with an 8 game schedule: 4 HOME games and 4 AWAY games. Away games will depend on the division the team plays in -- for example, the Northwest Division plays in towns such as Brookfield, New Milford, and Watertown -- while the Southwest Division plays in towns such as Greenwich, Fairfield, and Wilton. Travel teams also participate in at least 2 tournaments a year.
DYSC is a member CT Junior Soccer Association (CJSA.org) and US Youth Soccer (usyouthsoccer.org). The US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with intellectual and physical disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers.
